Leah Bailly is a writer originally from Canada, currently living in Los Angeles. Her work has appeared in Versal, PANK, Prism, the Collagist, subTerrain, and on CBC and NPR radio. She has won awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Alberta Literary Awards. In 2010, Leah traveled to Sierra Leone with Journalists for Human Rights, where she conducted research for her first novel, The Following.
Leah holds an International MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she was Deputy Editor of the literary journal Witness. She also holds a BFA in Writing from the University of Victoria, and has attended writing studios at The Banff Centre and Summer Literary Seminars in St. Petersburg, Russia and Vilnius, Lithuania. She is currently at work on a PhD in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Southern California where she is the Annenberg Fellow in Fiction.
Leah’s work is currently being represented by the Anne McDermid and Associates literary agency in Toronto.
